Sample Answer
Since childhood I admire athletes. And I believe that taking part in a sports activity is better than watching it on TV.
I like playing cricket, and I also play badminton with my friends.
Every year, our city organizes a marathon. I have been taking part in it since 2019.
I never miss an opportunity to take part in a marathon whenever it is organized in my city.
Having said that, I must confess that all these activities I have been doing are ground activities. I have never played any water sports.
When I was a kid, I used to watch water surfers riding on the waves of sea.
I was quite fascinated by that and I used to pester my father with questions regarding surfing.
My father would tell me that one day I would also do surfing.
At that time I didn’t know that in my city Ahmedabad, there won’t be any water sports activity possible as it’s a landlocked city.
The river Sabarmati flows through it, but it’s less than 8 or 10 feet deep in most parts.
As I am planning to move abroad, I am hopeful that I would be able to pursue surfing when I go there.
In Canada, there are many beaches on its east cost that are safe for surfing.
And this country is not without certified trainers who can teach a novice like me the basic principles and techniques of surfing.
It will be still a hobby for me, as I don’t want to pursue it as a profession.
Just a month ago I came across a Facebook page of a professional surfer based in Canada.
I sent him a message and told him about my interest in surfing.
He was quite humble. He replied the next day. He assured me that he would be very glad to train me as a coach.
His name is John Simpson. John loves Indian culture. And being an epicure, he loves Indian cuisine too.
I have also promised him that if ever he came to India, I would arrange a comfortable stay for him at my friend’s residence. I would also plan his itinerary here.
I think that John’s friendship is a real godsend. And under his tutelage, I will fulfill my dream of learning this aquatic sport.

Part 3
Why places like rivers, lakes, beaches, and other waterbodies attract people?
There is no definite answer to this question. In my opinion, it must have something to do with evolution.
The waterbodies have been the sources of life-sustaining fresh water since the dawn of civilization.
So, our ancestors settled near riverbanks and made sure that they got a constant supply of fresh water which they could use for agriculture and other purposes.
Today, the scenario is completely changed. But, deep within us, we have this tendency to feel joy whenever we look at a fresh source of water. We are instantly relaxed by the sound of flowing water.
What leisure activities people do at beaches and by riversides?
I can’t say much about people’s choices, but I can tell you that I would definitely read a book if I am at a beach. I would love basking in the warm sunshine in the early hours of morning and read an interesting autobiography or a short story.
I am a voracious reader, and I frequently take a book with me whenever I go to a local lake. I sit there for around an hour, and I read there with rapt attention.
Other people may prefer doing surfing, swimming, or playing volleyball at this places, but I would invariably choose reading.
