It is my motto that I must always welcome new adventures, and if they don’t come themselves then I must seek them.
Perhaps this adventurous spirit runs in our family. My father as well as my uncle are fond of adventurous sports.
They are good swimmers and in their college days they won many national and state-level swimming championships.
My father taught me swimming when I was just 5 years old.
I have gone on many trekking adventures during my school days, but I have never gone on an adventure trip with my family.
It is my dream that one day I would go with my father and my uncle to Rishikesh for river rafting.
Rishikesh is a city in the foothills of Himalaya.
The river Ganga passes through it, and there many people go to do river rafting.
The river Ganga which flows steadily and slowly in planes, it flows at a great speed in this region.
So, rafting in turbulent waters of river Ganga would be a very thrilling experience for us.
During the month of June people go there for rafting as it is quite impossible to do rafting in the monsoon season that starts from mid July and lasts till the end of November.
This region is notorious for torrential rain in the monsoon season.
My friend John went to Rishikesh last year. He arranged his trip with the help of a travel website named MakeMyTrip . com.
I would take help of the same website for the hassle-free arrangement of my trip.
My friend told me that it would be better to hire a coach that would train us and be there with us to guide us during our adventure.
There is one cousin of mine whose name is Pratik. He too loves to go boating. He works as an IT professional in a multinational company.
I would also invite him to join us. His skills as an excellent oarsman will be helpful to us.
Apart from that, he is a brilliant raconteur and he sings melodiously.
So, his jokes and sweet songs would keep our spirits high throughout our rafting adventure.
It is our Indian custom that whenever we embark on such a dangerous adventure, we pray to Lord Hanuman and seek his blessings.
There is a beautiful temple of Lord Hanuman in Rishikesh. We would go there first, and we all are devotees of Lord Hanuman, it would be an auspicious start for our rafting activity.
I hope that this day comes very soon when I will be doing river rafting in the company of adventurous souls like Pratik and others.
Sometimes we truly need some activity that is quite exciting and adventurous.
These days I am busy with my immigration procedure and the preparation of my IELTS test.

Part 3
Do you think all the people are ready to take risk? Or some people are more prone to take risks?
In my opinion, it is the circumstances that make people put their lives in danger most of the time.
But, it is a subjective matter. Some people, as far as I know, have it in their genetic structure that make them fearless.
Whereas, some people overcome their fears gradually, and they start taking more and more risks as they conquer their fears.
Do adventures expand our horizons?
It is a myth that the more risks we take the more confident we become. Yes, they do help us to make us bold and encourage us to take initiative.
However, people become unnecessarily addicted to it. And for the sake of cheap thrill, they put their lives in danger.
Is there any specific age group that loves adventures more?
It’s a difficult question to answer.
Popular belief is that youngsters are adventurous in spirit and old age people are inclined to stay away from danger.
Reality is sometimes completely different.
Every month we read about some elderly person crossing the English channel or reaching the peak of a mountain or staying underwater exploring marine species. And youngsters stay inside the confines of their homes, and avoid any dangerous activity.
What is more thrilling, adventure stories or movies?
I feel that they both complement each other. Suppose I read a survival story of a mountaineer in the Himalayan mountains.
I would enjoy it more if a movie is made on that story. Reading a book and imagining the scenes in the story is one thing. It has its limitations.
A movie helps us to see the actual scenes and places where the event took place.
