Describe a movie you watched recently that you
felt disappointed about
– When it was
– Why you didn’t like it
– Why you decided to watch it
– And explain why you felt disappointed about it
I am not a movie buff. And I also don’t consider myself a connoisseur of world-cinema.
I go to watch a movie only for entertainment purposes.
I believe that if we don’t have too much expectations from a movie, then whatever we see on a big screen will always be amusing for us.
Having said that, I must say that there was a time when I had to regret that decision.
Last month, I went to Galaxy Theater to watch the movie ‘Half Girlfriend’ with my cousins.
The movie is based on the eponymous novel by the celebrated author Mr. Chetan Bhagat.
For me, the main attraction was its hero Arjun Kapoor. He was my favorite movie star.
Before this movie, Arjun Kapoor had performed in a superhit movie called ‘Gundayy’ which was released in the year 2015.
The film was an instant hit because of the stellar performance of Arjun Kapoor and Parinitee Chopra.
So, I was super excited when I heard that my favorite hero was appearing in another movie with some best actors of the film industry.
Another interesting thing was that in this film, the famous music director Vishal Bhardwaj was making his debut as a director.
Vishal Bhardwaj is known for making experiments with his film music. And I was sure that he would do the same with this movie.
On a Saturday evening, we went to the movie theater and our hopes were very high.
The movie started with some emotional scenes, but after some 15-20 minutes, the story started losing its grip on the audience.
The first half was quite boring, and Arjun Kapoor’s acting was quite boring too.
Shraddha Kapoor, who played Arjun’s love interest, didn’t have a good chemistry with him.
In the second half, we could enjoy a few songs that were the only redeeming feature of this movie.
Overall, the movie didn’t come up to our expectations.
And I vowed there and then that I will never watch another Arjun Kapoor movie before reading its reviews on the website RottenTomatoes.
